Our story
We believe every home deserves a good story
The Home Story was founded by someone who knows what it means to love a home deeply — and to fight for it. This is that story.
Wendy Li
Founder, The Home Story
Where it all began
Wendy Li's passion for home building and design is in her DNA. Raised by a developer father and an interior designer mother, she grew up watching raw spaces transform into beautiful, functional sanctuaries — learning both the structural backbone and the aesthetic soul of a home before most people learn to drive.
For over ten years, Wendy channeled that lifelong education into her role as part-owner of Tri-Country Tile & Floor Specialists, helping countless clients lay the groundwork for their dream spaces. Then came her most ambitious project yet: bringing her own dilapidated house back to life. Confronted with a structure in severe disrepair, she undertook a massive renovation — and discovered firsthand just how much critical information a homeowner needs to track, remember, and find again.
The Homeowner's Journal was born from that experience. Not a spreadsheet. Not an app with a learning curve. A thoughtfully designed companion — available as a physical binder or a seamless digital planner — that gives every document, contact, and decision a permanent, findable home.
Our mission
"To help every homeowner feel organized, confident, and genuinely at home — by giving them the tools to document, track, and plan the place they love most.
What we stand for
The values behind every page
Clarity over complexity
We design for the person who just wants to find the furnace warranty without digging through three email inboxes. Simple, organized, always within reach.
Beauty in the details
Your home is a reflection of who you are. The tools you use to manage it should feel just as considered — not clinical, not corporate, but warm and well-made.
Peace of mind, earned
We believe that knowing your home — really knowing it — is one of the most empowering feelings in the world. We're here to help you get there.
